Simply because HF patch managed to messed up my game files. Other than that, I prefer to keep the game much cleaner from foreign patch, unless it is a mod.
Your preferences might be different from me. It was pretty difficult to find a proper guide to install the Mod without HF Patch. But actually the steps itself is so easy. So what the hell? It turns out you need to download Sybaris first and extract it to CM3D2 root directory. So how do you install Sybaris? Just extract the files to CM3D2 root directory. Sybaris directory must be one level below CM3D2 directory.

Just copy the mod you want to install to GameData directory inside Sybaris directory. Much easy, eh? I am going to use Eila chara mod from Strike Witches from below. After that, run the game and the option to choose the ears, hair, clothes, and strikers will appear in you game. Making the character looks like Eila takes a bit effort however. You need to find specific hair color, faces, body, and every other parts not included in the mod. After that, you just need to pick the right hair, ears, clothes, striker, and even the gun.

But not all of them provide download link. It might cause your game to crash on certain occasion or due to conflict between two mods. Just be careful when installing a bunch of mods at the same time.
Hi, first of thank you for this guide! Like Like. I did try to install it before making this guide but it turns out the patch messed up my game. Many buttons in game disappear. I also found that not every mods can be used with Sybaris only. Some of them requires ReiPatcher and additional plug-ins, unfortunately. I might make another guide about ReiPatcher, but at the moment, I am still too confused with it. However, since Sybaris requires no installation, I think it can work together.
Unfortunately, I have no idea about the translation patch. Reipatcher should be able to work together with Sybaris. But I am not sure about the translation.

The way that COM3D2's default skin menu's load face texture onto the model is that they check face modelname and add a string to it, which results in texture filename that the game is searching for.
This means that a face mods must provide face textures for ALL game's skins, including DLC's so as to avoid any errors. This of cource is very inconvenient as this significantly increases mod size and makes support for DLC skins kinda iffy, as this can mean distribution of unmodified textures in order to ensure no errors for the end user.
The FaceTypePatcher aims to avoid all of this noncense, by enabling use of textures that game already has. Here, the outlined parts are the part of the menu that are responsible for loading face textures onto the face when when this menu is selected in-game. While one should be knowledgeable enough in order to make a face mod and know what those parts are, I want to going into detail how game chooses which face texture to load.
So for instance your maid has a menu file, that equips face So when one makes a face mod, that is not intended to override default face model, the filename of mod model must differ from those that game already has. So for instance I want to make a face mod that uses face model which is called myface. Because face mods tend to be derivative of game's faces and they have the same or compatible UV-layout, modders usually duplicate a set of texture and name them accordingly to be usable in-game, which works fine for skin that are part of the base game, but become dodgy when the modder wants their face to work with DLC skins, as this would mean distribution of unmodified DLC files.
Or the modder might now have the DLC and so the users that do have it cann't use the face with them. What is the Face Type system? KISS uses a simple naming convention for their face models, which is composed of face and three numbers i.
So when you browse trough game file, you can see that face models are called face The FaceTypePatcher fakes the model filename of mod face and passes the face filname that game already has, which allow mod faces to work with ALL skins that game has or might have in future, without the need for providing any textures! In order for FaceTypePatcher to fake the name the model filename of face mod must have a specific name.
This was necessary as to enable model to specify texture set of what face they want the game to use for their face. The patcher looks at the model filename and searches for a facetype keyword.Kickstart include
If the model has this keyword It then check if there is a custom texture for this face, by using standard search pattern that game uses.
This is done because some authors might actually want to use custom textures for default game skins. If there is no custom texture available, the patcher will then check 3 characters after factype keyword to determine what face type the model has.
